Small Business Marketing Consultant Shares Biggest Website Mistake Is Not Integrating An Active Blog
As a small business marketing consultant I have reviewed hundreds of websites. The single biggest mistake I see is that business owners and professionals are not integrating an active blog that can impact new traffic and and online lead generation.
While there are actually plenty of mistakes business owners and professionals make with regard to their websites, it’s absolutely absurd to see so few websites with integrated blogs. People who design and develop websites are partly to blame. After all, if you are not a business person focused on generating business and sales results you have little incentive or interest in doing anything more than throwing up a website that just sits there. Yet, business owners and professionals have to accept some of this responsibility because it is incumbent upon those who choose to market to do some homework and be more informed about Internet marketing.
Here’s the bottom line on this. If you want you and your business to be found online you need to promote your website. Social media can make an impact if it’s done consistently and well. Yet the two most important factors that impact how much traffic you get to your website is content (keyword friendly!) and high quality inbound links. Blogging is a great way to generate new, keyword friendly content that the search engines can find. This means people searching for what you sell have a better chance of finding your website if you integrate a blog, write consistently using the proper keyword friendly content, and offer relevant and useful information your visitors will find appealing and act upon.
If you are a business owner or professional and you have a website I am really curious to know what’s holding you back from integrating and blog and learning how to make it a powerful traffic generator and online lead generation service for you and your business. Please share your comments and questions here and I promise to reply. (Unless you’re spamming my blog in which case you will be ignored.)
Small business marketing consultants are not created equally. Which means if you’re inclined to work with a small business marketing consultant and they are not advising you on how to properly leverage your website by integrating and using a blog, you might want to find a new small business marketing consultant. Fast.
